- Assuming you have a full modem (and not half a modem like an RPI
- modem or a controllerless modem), the chipset used has NO effect on it's
- compatability with any OS. Since the Rockwell 28.8 chipsets are not RPI
- or controllerless or anything like that, you may want to try looking
- elsewhere for you're problems.

- Well, USR, Multitech, Motorola, Archtec, AT&T Comspheres, Penrils,
- Zypcoms, Telebit Fastblazers, and many others do not use Rockwell chipset.
- Rockwell has quite a strong hold on the chipsets used in bargin basement
- modems, but if you look at mid-range or high-end modem, you'll hardly find
- a Rockwell chip in the bunch (Microcom DeskPorte FASTs are the only
- mid-ranged modems I can think of which use Rockwell chipsets, I know of no
- real high-end modems that use 'em). Also, AT&T chipset based mdoems can
- sometimes be found in the bargin basement catagory as well.
